Melodee Lane was born in upstate South Carolina and her extended family still populate places like Greer, Reidville, Duncan, Lyman, Spartanburg, Easley, Greenville, and Anderson. (Just to name a few of the dots on the family map.) Heritage is important in the south, and just one example of Melodee's family heritage can be found to this day at the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, where a horseshoe is embedded in a runway, in tribute to her great-great grandfather's farm that once existed there.

 

In the present, Melodee is the founder and creative director of a branding and graphic design studio with offices in Atlanta, GA and Naples, FL. She lives with her rock-musician husband, a rescued dog named Kizmet, and a rescued cat named Chalupa Batman. She also has two grown children, a daughter and son, that she brags about extensively.

 

Every once in a while, in the midst of all the madness, she makes time to write down some of the stories in her head.
